Final Jeopardy: Bodies of Water (8-2-13)

The Final Jeopardy question (8/2/2013) in the category “Bodies of Water” was:

This body of water bearing the name of a country borders 5 U.S. States.

It’s the last game of the Kid’s Tournament and the contestants are: Xan Vessels from Mechanicsville, VA; Holly Boivin, from Nashua, NH; and Patrick Aimone, from Long Beach, CA.

Patrick found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Elements” before the first break. He was the only one with any money — $800. Xan was still at zero and Holly was negative $200. He bet what he had on hand and he was RIGHT.

Daniel Rutherford discovered this gas that makes up most of the atmosphere & called it “noxious air”.

Patrick finished in the lead with $9,400. Holly was second with $4,000 and Xan was last with $1,600.

Holly found the first Double Jeopardy Daily Double in “Transportation.” She had the lead with $8,000, $2,200 more than Patrick in second place. She bet $1,500 and she was RIGHT.

In 1784, 2 Frenchman built Europe’s first flying model of this type of aircraft; its rotors were made of feathers.

Patrick found the last Daily Double in “The Orchestra.” He was still in second place with $8,200, $3,300 less than Holly’s lead. He bet $2,000 and he was RIGHT.

The tuba is made from this metal & belongs to that section of the orchestra.

Holly finished in the lead with $16,700. Patrick was next with $11,000 and Xan was in third place with $5,600.

    just a thought….considering the money j. makes, maybe they should all kids give the money they earn. not just the first place finisher, but today Xan could have gotten 11 K and Patrick 18 K. kind of disappointing when you finish with 18K and take home just 2.000…..it would not bankrupt sony…and be an incentive and reward for the kids. just mho…
