Of all the parents on the Secret Life of the American Teenager, Ricky’s mom, Nora Underwood, has to be the most toxic.

Now that Nora is out of jail and staying with Ricky, she gets to meet her possible future daughter-in-law, Amy Juergens when Amy unexpectedly pops by on the way to school. Nora is blown away by Amy’s physical resemblance to her as a teenager, before drugs and alcohol took its toll.

Not only that, bad influence Nora decides to talk Amy out of going to school so she can tell “Ricky stories.” Amy isn’t bowled over by the idea but lets Nora’s talk her into it. Later, Nora brings up the resemblance to Ricky, implying he has Oedipal problems. She’s just nasty.

When Amy brings up the resemblance to Nora, Ricky gets grossed out and warns her to shut up unless she really doesn’t want him to sleep with her, and also warns her about charming lying addictive personalities like his mom’s. He refuses to call Nora “mom” because he considers his foster parents to be the real deal, and he also consider their house a better place for Nora to live than with his.
