Today’s match will wind up the Teen Tournament semi-finals. One of these players will be our last finalist: Krishna Bharathala, a sophomore from Fremont, CA; Rose Schaefer, a junior from Portland, OR, or Kevin Yang, a junior from Birmingham, AL.
Kevin, you may know, finished with the highest amount of money ($26,801) in the quarter-finals. Rose and Krishna both won Wild Card spots. Let’s see how that shakes out today.
Krishna found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in the category “When in the World.” He was in third place with $1,200, $1,000 less than Rose and $1,600 less than Kevin. He took a shot with March and that was WRONG.

Rose finished in the lead with $4,600; Kevin was a very close second with $4,400 and Krishna had $2,600. Before Double Jeopardy! began Kevin was given credit for a clue that was supposed to be accompanied by a picture of Eli Manning. That put him in a tie for the lead with Rose and Krishna still went first.
Kevin found the first Daily Double in the category “Biology.” He now was in the lead alone with $6,200, $800 more than Rose. He bet $2,000, but thought it was a corrosive acid and that was WRONG.

Kevin found the last Daily Double in “The Silent Movie Era.” He was in last place with $10,600, but only $800 behind Krishna in second place and $1,600 behind Rose in first. He risked $2,000 again but this time, he was RIGHT.
Later famous for thrillers like “Psycho,” this man directed the silent murder mystery “The Lodger.” show
The round ended and Kevin finished in the lead with $12,600. Rose had $12,200 and Krishna had $11,400.

Krishna bet it all and finished with $22,800.
Rose bet everything but a dollar. She finished with $24,399.
Kevin wrote down William Golding which drew a collective and very audible gasp from the audience. He bet $11,801 and finished with $799.
Rose Schaefer won the game and we are now going to have an all-girl final. Her opponents are Catherine Briley from Grand Prairie, LA, and Elyse Mancuso, from Omaha, NE.
