Final Jeopardy: Calendars

The Final Jeopardy question (5/2/2012) in the category “Calendars” was:

Of the 12 beasts representing years in the Chinese calendar, the one not biologically related to any creature on earth.

Day 3 of the Teen Tournament brings us these three new players: Elyse Mancuso, a junior from Omaha, NE; Catherine Briley, a senior from Grand Prairie, LA and Krishna Bharathala, a sophomore from Fremont, CA.

Catherine found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Back in the 20th Century.” She was in the lead with $4,000, twice as much as Elyse had and $3,000 more than Krishna. She bet $1,000. Her answer was “Pakistan” and that was WRONG.

Elyse finished in the lead with $6,800. Catherine was next with $2,600 and Krishna was in third place with $2,600.

Catherine found the first Double Jeopardy Daily Double in “Visiting the Boston Area.” She had $6,000, but this time around, Elyse had double her score. She bet $3,000 and she was RIGHT.

And Catherine found the last Daily Double in “U.S. Government.” She now had $10,200, $3,000 less than Elyse. She bet $2,800 and she was RIGHT.

The Constitution defines this crime as “levying war” against the United States or giving enemies “aid and comfort.” show

Elyse finished in the lead with $19,600. Catherine was in second place with $11,000 and Krishna was in third place but had moved up to $7,800.

WHAT IS THE DRAGON?

Krishna bet $7,201 and finished with $15,001.

Catherine bet $10,000. She finished with $21,000.

Elyse bet $3,000, finishing with $22,600 and winning a semi-final spot.

Catherine took over 1st place for a Wild Card spot and Krishna bumped Sam Leanza off the list.  Here’s what it looks like now:
