New champ Amy Ketterling was back today after winning a big $30,000 yesterday. She really kicked butt yesterday. Will these two new players see a repeat performance? Sean Hansen originally from Cleveland, OH and Lindsay Reese, from Escanaba, MI.

Amy found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Panama Canal.” She was in the lead with $5,200, $800 more than Lindsay and $2,000 more than Sean. It was a video Daily Double. She didn’t want to go for a true Daily Double today but she still wanted to get a leg up, so she bet $5,000 and she was RIGHT.

Lucky Amy found the first Daily Double in Double Jeopardy! in “Tale Ships.” Well? She was lucky finding the Daily Doubles or else it was just because she was kicking butt again. She now had $15,800, $10,200 more than Lindsay in second place. She bet $4,000, and that was a bit lucky, too, because she didn’t know so she was WRONG.

Sean got the second Daily Double in “Tony Awards.” He was in last place with $8,400. Amy now had $15,000 so he got the usual spiel about how he could take over the lead. ALL of the players got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS POP ART?

“Richard William Hamilton CH (24 February 1922 – 13 September 2011) was a British painter and collage artist. His 1956 collage, Just what is it that makes today’s homes so different, so appealing?, produced for the This Is Tomorrow exhibition of the Independent Group in London, is considered by critics and historians to be one of the early works of pop art.” (wikipedia)

Lindsay only made a bitty bet — $5,201 — so she finished with $15,401.

Amy bet the farm and she finished with $30,000.

Sean bet $14,601 so it turned out to be a $30,001 payday for him and he will return tomorrow as the new champ.
