On August 28, 1898, Caleb renamed his drink “Pepsi-Cola,” after a combination of two ingredients, “pepsin” and “cola”. He believed his drink was ‘healthy’ as it aided in digestion much like the pepsin enzyme does.” (Pepsi Store: History)
