Wheel of Fortune: Swiss Holiday Week 2018

It’s Swiss Holiday Week on Wheel of Fortune and we’re posting the Bonus Puzzle with the winner’s final prize amount. By way of comparison, the Jeopardy! payoff is also included with a link to the recap of that game.

Mon 1-22-18 Wheel: $21,248
On Jeopardy: $17,401
Reina Lyons on Wheel of Fortune (1-22-2018)
Reina Lyons was only able to add one A to her bonus puzzle. That brought the total number of letters revealed up to 5, as many letters as were in the first words alone! Reina had no direction to go with so she didn’t get an extra $35,000.

Tue 1-23-18 Wheel: $52,243
On Jeopardy: $11,999
Michael Rodriguez on Wheel of Fortune (1-23-2018)
Michael Rodriguez got two of his consonants: an H and a P, and also added 3 A’s to the mix. It was a slam dunk as he knew the phrase before the time began. A MINI Cooper worth $30,195 fattened up his $22,048 winnings from the main game.

Wed 1-24-18 Wheel: $33,046
On Jeopardy: $10,999
Taralyn Meusel on Wheel of Fortune (1-24-2018)
Taralyn Meusel added an A and a P to her bonus puzzle. Sometimes that’s enough but those 2 additions still left it too wide open for a 10-second solve. We’re sure she felt better when the loss was revealed at $35K and not the one million card that was in the Wheel.

Thu 1-25-18 Wheel: $24,168
On Jeopardy: $10,800
Susan Putt on Wheel of Fortune (1-25-2018)
Susan Putt got two Ds, one G and one O out of her letter picks. If she could have zeroed in on that first word, it might have come to her. Alas, that didn’t happen so she won’t be seeing the MINI Cooper in her driveway.

Fri 1-26-18 Wheel: $27,600
On Jeopardy: $20,401
Rita Wasson on Wheel of Fortune (1-26-2018)
Rita Wasson’s letter choices yielded 2 Ds and one A, filling in the one word she already knew was in there. Unfortunately, that didn’t give her any help with the 2 words she didn’t know so she lost out on an extra $35,000.
