New champ, Patrick Geary won $23,800 in yesterday’s game. Today he is up against these two challengers: Sarah Orzalli from Chicago, IL; and David Brown from Palo Alto, CA.

David found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “A Useful Category,” with only one clue left to go. He had a big lead with $6,600, $4,800 ahead of Sarah in second place. He bet $1,000 and he was RIGHT.

WHO ARE DUSTIN HOFFMAN and PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN?

Out of 7 Best Actor Oscar nominations, the two Dustin Hoffman won for were “Kramer vs. Kramer” (1979), and “Rain Man” (1988), Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Best Actor Oscar was for “Capote” (2005). He has also been nominated for several supporting roles. If anyone’s curious, if they went by first name, the most wins for Best Actor is Paul.

Sarah wrote down the Fondas. She lost $2,900 and finished with $100.

Patrick also had the Fondas but crossed it out, with no time to put in another guess. He lost everything but $1.

David wrote down “Jerry and Daniel Day-Lewis.” The only one who could well afford to bet a lot, he stood pat and won the game with $22,200.

Ellen Brown I believe to be the Mom David talked about in the contestant interviews, she finished in the red on the 6/16/2009 episode. She was(at the time) from the same town David claims to be from. Gong SHow a triple stumper? Alex did years back make negative comments about the show, as it bowed around the same time his first NBC run of High ROllers ended its run.
