Final Jeopardy: Famous Relatives (7-2-12)

The Final Jeopardy question (7/2/2012) in the category “Famous Relatives” was:

In 2011 his daughter Svetlana, living in the U.S. under the name of Lana Peters, died in Wisconsin at age 85.

Matt Samberg won $21,400 on Friday and he’s back today to try to stay champ. He’ll have to beat these two new players: Taylor Norwood, from Dallas, TX and  Misha Bushyager, from Baltimore, MD.

Taylor found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Rolling Stones: Greatest Guitarists.” He was in second place with $1,400, $800 behind Matt and we didn’t even get to the first commercial break yet. Surprisingly, since he was doing quite well in the category, he only bet $1,000 and he was RIGHT.

Matt found the first Double Jeopardy Daily Double in “Hard Times.” He was in second place when he found it with $7,600 but Misha was then awarded a correct answer and she moved into second place with $8,200. Taylor was in the lead with $10,000. Matt bet $2,400 and he was RIGHT.

WHO IS JOSEPH STALIN?

“Born as Svetlana Allilueva (she was given this last name after Stalin wife’s maiden surname) on the 22nd of February, 1926 in Leningrad (now St Petersburg), Svetlana was Stalin’s favorite and the only daughter from his second marriage to Nadezda Allilueva.” (Dancing Bears Tours: St. Petersburg)

Misha doubled her score and finished with $18,000.

Taylor bet $11,590 so he finished with $23,190.

Matt bet $10,901 so he finished with $23,201 and remained champ by a margin of $11.00. His 2-day total is $44,601.

Taylor reminded us so much of the actor who played Cotton Top in the recent “Hatfields & McCoys” miniseries. What do you think? And do you know the actor’s name? We bet Taylor does.
