We’ve got a new champ again. It’s Mike McCormick who won $16,801 in yesterday’s match. Today he takes on these two players: Noah Rachels, from Astoria, NY and Skylar Rampersaud, from Kapolei, HI.
Mike found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “The Name of the Flag.” He was in the lead with $2,600, $200 ahead of Skylar in second place. He bet $1,600, took a guess with the Dominican Republic, but that was WRONG.
This Caribbean nation flies La Estrella Solitaria, “The Solitary Star.”
Noah finished in the lead with $6,000. Skylar was second with $2,800 and Mike was last with $2,600.
Mike found the first Double Jeopardy Daily Double in “Authors on Authors.” He was in second place with $7,400, $200 behind Noah’s lead. He bet $2,500, thought it was Wilkie Collins and that was WRONG.
Conan Doyle wrote, “Where was the detective story until” this author “breathed the breath of life into it.”
Skylar found the last Daily Double in “1930s Science & Technology.” She was in third place with $4,400, $5,600 behind Noah’s lead. She bet $2,500, thought it was Mach and that was WRONG.

Noah finished in the lead with $13,600. Mike was next with $7,300 and Skylar was in third place with $2,000.
TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Indonedia is an archipelago of 17,508 islands, 6,000 of which are inhabited. It is the world’s 4th most populous country and is bordered by Timor-Leste, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. (CIA World Factbook: Indonesia)
Skylar wrote down Malaysia and bet it all. She finished with zero.
Mike got it right and also bet it all. He finished with $14,600.
Noah also got it right and bet $1,499 so he finished with $15,099. And guess what? We’ve got a new champion for the third day in a row!
